It’s been a long time since I last released a DJ mix publicly. I stepped away from DJing for a few years as my interests shifted, but recently I’ve found my way back, and it feels good to be behind the decks again.
After a work trip to Montenegro in September, where I spent a night DJing back-to-back with a friend on Pioneer CDJ-3000s, I was completely hooked. I've spent years DJing on a Pioneer DDJ-SX controller, which just doesn't get across the same feeling as a pair of CDJs. Not long after arriving back home, I picked up a pair of Pioneer XDJ-1000 MK2s and a DJM-900 NXS mixer. I’d always wanted a proper CDJ-style setup but could never quite justify the cost. I feel I can now that I'm pushing 30. Sometimes you just know when it’s time.
I’m currently putting the finishing touches on a 30-minute running mix, designed specifically for a 5KM run. Recording soon.
